For fans of the beloved 90's sitcom, the news of a sequel type series made our hearts burst with nostalgic excitement. Creator of Boy Meets World and now executive producer of Girl Meets World, Michael Jacobs, had secured Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel in rebooting their roles as Cory and Topanga but now, they had to find the girl. The luckiest 11 year old in the world has been chosen and her name is Rowan Blanchard. She will be playing the daughter, Riley, of America's favorite sweethearts. She will also have a brother, who has yet to be cast, only one year older than her. While the brother is so close in age (as Eric was to Cory), the show is still centered around her journey through those pre-teen years. At first glance, I was wary of the casting choice because Blanchard looks like a mini Camilla Belle and I was hoping for a mini Danielle Fishel. But once you look at her next to Ben Savage, you realize that she is a perfect choice. She has a lot of his facial features, plus she's just adorable! This show is exactly the make-over that Disney Channel needs. An infusion of the 90's will make the channel more tolerable (you know, for the 20-somethings that still want to watch Disney Channel, who cares about those 10-year-olds!)
